After 2 years of preparation, production and turnkey assembly on site, we recently delivered 2 complete PROMIX mixing plants for Scania’s new foundry in Södertälje Sweden
The plants are used for the production of coldbox core packages for the engines of Scania`s `Future Powertrain Program`.
Starting 2023 Scania will do the production of engine blocks and cylinder heads entirely in-house, under its own management and according to the latest technology and insights. The foundry is designed to produce 83,000 T of castings per year.
Some facts:
- Coldbox mixing capacity of each plant 25 t/h
- Integrated preparation of materials with cooling, heating and dedusting
- Promix mixers with integrated weighing for variable batches from 150 to 650 kg
- Automatic transport of mixed material to 5-8 positions
- Installation dimensions 5 x 8 meters, 12 meters height, distribution 45 meters
- Total 63 tons of steel in 11 truck transports
Despite various unexpected circumstances due to the COVID virus we could complete the project early 2022 to Scania’s great satisfaction.
